We came together, stronger.
This is the first day of our Country's National Lockdown and the last day of the working week that will surely be remembered for generations to come. On Monday evening (23 March 2020) our President announced a Country-wide shut down aimed at 'flattening the curve' of the infection rate of the Covid-19 virus that has devastated globally.
Although we had taken the decision to start setting up staff in the 'high risk' category (as identified by the WHO) to work remotely last week, Monday's announcement gave us just three days to facilitate this happening for the entire Steer Team. Some of our challenges included different home environments, internet connections, varying hardware, untested off-site IT systems and management programmes, all this while still handling the day-to-day business operations, many of which increased in intensity given this global pandemic.
We are pleased (and relieved) to announce that due to a monumental team effort that saw all our staff really work together in a positive way, we are fully remotely operational, ready to serve our clients!
We are encouraging an email culture between ourselves and clients with our switchboard diverted to a mobile phone number, the holder of which has all of our email addresses. Please email your respective contact at Steer & Co should you need assistance or have any queries. Emergency contact details for after-hours maintenance- related emergencies are available on our website.
We are proud of our team effort where everyone went beyond the 'norm' and pulled together to make this happen. A big thank you to all our staff. It is our hope that this lockdown is taken seriously and, through everyone being responsible by self-isolating, we will positively contribute to 'flattening the curve'.
The Covid-19 virus has disrupted the world and at least for now our respective working environments have drastically changed. Here are a few home snaps taken by our staff.
